Sustainability in the home – where are all the men..?! – The Sustainable(ish) Online Festival 2020 – A Festival of Sustainable Living
The Sustainable(ish) Online Festival 2020 was an online celebration of all things Sustainable(ish) held during May 2020.
The festival was host to 40 talks providing a source of inspiration for anyone wanting to try and live a more sustainable life and reduce their impact on the planet, and it was bloody brilliant to see so much enthusiasm for all things Sustainable(ish) and the wonderful community that came together in a virtual campsite to support each other and take action for the health of the planet.
I don't want to start an argument but...
In my experience, as a mum, and as the founder of a 16k+ strong Sustainable(ish) community on FB, it seems that the majority of people who are making the day to day decisions that help us to be a bit more eco-friendly are women. So where are all the men?
Why is there this seeming gender imbalance on a household level, and possibly an imbalance the other way when we look at 'sustainability professionals'?
Is this actually the case?
Does it matter?
How do we get more men on board with sustainability in the home?
