The Sustainable(ish) Online Festival 2020 was an online celebration of all things Sustainable(ish) held during May 2020.
The festival was host to 40 talks providing a source of inspiration for anyone wanting to try and live a more sustainable life and reduce their impact on the planet, and it was bloody brilliant to see so much enthusiasm for all things Sustainable(ish) and the wonderful community that came together in a virtual campsite to support each other and take action for the health of the planet.

Join Anne Sayer from Planet Aware as she talks to us about Circular Fashion - what it is, and how we can do it at home.

Planet Aware is a social enterprise running community projects that encourage environmental change and a greater love of the oceans. Last year Planet Aware teamed up with Making Space in Leigh Park to launch Textile Transformation, a project funded by Hampshire County Council to cut clothing waste through re-use and repair.

In this session Jo share with us tips on how to measure, track and reduce your carbon footprint, including a pre launch sneak peek of Giki Zero.

 Jo Hand is co-founder of Giki Social Enterprise, the creators of digital products to help people live sustainably. The free Giki app helps find sustainable and healthy products in the UK supermarket. Giki Zero provides an interactive, step by step guide to a sustainable life.

In this festival talk, Georgina Wilson-Powell shares with us ten simple ideas for how to live more mindfully, thoughtfully, and sustainably.

Georgina Wilson-Powell is a passionate journalist and magazine editor who is using her 16 years in the media industry for global change. She founded Pebble magazine 18 months ago as a stylish portal for sustainable living advice and positive stories that help inspire people to change the world. pebble covers everything from eco-travel to ethical fashion, plastic waste, food waste, permaculture, foraging, heritage crafts, yoga and pioneers trying to impact the planet.

The festival was host to 40 talks providing a source of inspiration for anyone wanting to try and live a more sustainable life and reduce their impact on the planet, and it was bloody brilliant to see so much enthusiasm for all things Sustainable(ish) and the wonderful community that came together in a virtual campsite to support each other and take action for the health of the planet. 

Erin Lewis-Fitzgerald joined festival host Jen Gale for a chat over a virtual cuppa about all things 'modern mending'.
Erin shared some of her top tips for mending textiles with things we already have at home, as well as some of her favourite visible mends.

Erin Lewis-Fitzgerald is Australia's leading clothes-mending practitioner, author of the book Modern Mending and shopkeeper at modernmending.com. Her mending has been displayed in art exhibitions in Melbourne and Adelaide.

Listen in to Emma Knight-Strong's festival session all about how to engage with people on sustainability at work.

Emma is a Sustainability Coach, Chartered Environmentalist and Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment with over a decade’s experience in the environmental field. She wanted to be the next David Attenborough but, thanks to an eventful trip to Malawi, ended up being allergic to most of nature. She now works to save the world from behind a desk. Growing gourmet(ish) salad – The Sustainable(ish) Online Festival 2020 – A Festival of Sustainable Living

The Sustainable(ish) Online Festival 2020 was an online celebration of all things Sustainable(ish) held during May 2020.

Catherine delivered a brilliant session for us at the festival on "First steps in food growing: gourmet(ish) salads from home!"

Catherine is a co-Director (with lifelong pal Liz) of Barefoot Kitchen CIC, a social enterprise based in north-east UK.
Specialising in plot-to-plate community projects, Barefoot Kitchen’s aim is to get everyone growing, cooking, eating and sharing their own food!
