Here we go again….
Another birthday party!
This time, another little boy.
I had loads of really great ideas in the comments from everyone, last time I blogged about the difficulty of thinking what to make for Small Boys.
And this was one of my favourites…
A Snail Racing Kit!
I made a drawstring bag from a pillowcase (that can be used for taking things to Big School later on) and appliqued the birthday boy’s initial onto it.
- some coloured sticky dots to mark the snails so everyone knows whose is whose
- a racetrack-a piece of cardboard with lanes drawn on it and “START” and “FINISH” marked at either end
- and a brief explanation (NB. I think you have to choose the parents of the Small boy quite carefully for this one-some will think it’s just brilliant, and others will just think you are a bit wierd…!)
I was googling for some images to use for this post, when I came across this brilliant post on the Woodland Trust’s Nature Detectives site-it has all the downloads you could possibly want for a Snail Race, so if you’d on’t fancy making your own-it is all here for you!
I’ll let you know if it is a hit…
