Fun Fun Fun… – Sustainable(ish)

Fun Fun Fun…

This weekend was a Bank Holiday. And, amazingly, the sun shone 🙂

So what did we do..?

We cleared out our garage of course! (We did do lots of fun stuff too…)

Last week I confessed to the ‘dumping ground’ that is our spare room. Well, that is ONE of several dumping grounds. The outside dumping ground is obviously the garage…

It wasn’t a huge amount of fun, but quite satisfying. And we un-earthed a load of projects we had forgotten about…

I got this cable drum off Freecycle ages ago and we had grand designs of turning it into a table, although I think hubby is now eyeing it up as some kind of enormous back wheel for a go-kart...

A pair of chairs from the auction house and a standard lamp. The standard lamp is from my Nana's house, and we have no where to put it at the moment, but it is so lovely, I am loathe to part with it. And I got these non-working sewing machines from Freecycle hoping that hubby would learn to repair and service sewing machines (in his spare time...!)

As you can see, we have a few bits and pieces to keep us busy for the rest of My Make Do and Mend Year (and beyond..)

I know you are all desperate to see what the end result was…

I will confess, this is not that impressive an improvement, but at least you can now walk from the front to the back without tripping over :)

PS. Sunday is the closing date for voting in the BritMums Brilliance in Blogging Awards. My Make Do and Mend Year has been short-listed in the Commentary category for blogs that are “being a force for positive change. Their topics might be global, local or personal. Whatever their cause, these bloggers did more than their bit, and helped us get involved too” If you have been reading the blog, and enjoying it, then I would be very chuffed if you could spare a moment or two to vote for it! Follow this link, click on Vote Now, and scroll down until you find My Make Do and Mend Year! Please don’t do what my mum did and inadvertently vote for the blog above mine…(you see, I need all the help I can get!)
