Trashion
A couple of weeks ago I was invited along by expert Waste Watcher Emma Croft (Wiltshire Wildlife Trust’s Waste Minimisation Officer no less!) to a fashion show with a difference-a Trashion Show…
Last year Wiltshire Wildllife Trust‘s Education Officer worked in conjunction with the teachers and pupils at Sarum Academy School in Salisbury, to run an upycling module for the students on some of their BTech courses. At the end of the module, they staged a Trashion show, and it was such a roaring success, it looks set to now be an annual event.
It was a fantastic night-the students had upcycled items that would have otherwise gone to landfill into cutting edge fashion pieces! It was great to see how much thought had gone into each of the pieces, and also into the Trashion Show itself. The students made the outfits, choreographed the whole show, AND arranged the music and lighting.
Here are some of my favourite bits!
A HUGE well done to all the students and staff from the Sarum Academy who were involved. Inspirational stuff 🙂
