WHO IS THIS FOR?

  • Anyone wanting to live more sustainably.
  • Anyone wanting to reduce their impact on our planet.
  • Anyone wanting to live more mindfully.
  • Anyone wanting to connect with like-minded people in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental community.
  • Anyone wanting to some guidance and support around the steps that they can take to reduce their environmental impact.

WHO IS THIS NOT FOR?

  • Anyone who doesn’t really give a monkeys about the planet.
  • Anyone whose main focus is money saving – living more sustainably is that it very often has the nice ‘side-benefit’ of saving money, but that isn’t the driving force behind the community, and if you are solely looking to save money, then this isn’t really the group for you.
  • Anyone who isn’t prepared to learn, to change, to try, and to fail sometimes.

MEET JEN GALE

I'm a 'retired vet' living in Wiltshire in the south-west of the UK, with my husband and our two young sons. In 2012/13 we spent a year buying nothing new, and it completely opened my eyes to so many things – I was forced to confront many of the issues that I had previously chosen to look away from.  Things like fast fashion, and plastic pollution, and the amount of rubbish we were sending to landfill. And it also opened my eyes to the fact that as just one family, we really could make a difference. That it was worth making all the small changes we were implementing, because together they all add up. Over the course of the year, we changed the way we shopped, and more importantly, the way we thought about shopping.

I learned that my choices matter. That my choices can help to change the world. And that by taking responsibility for the impact of the choices I was making, I could create really, meaningful, positive change. I was also lucky enough to be featured in a number of publications, media outlets and radio & TV interviews which meant I could share my journey, and the message that we can all make a difference, to a very wide audience.

Since then, I have gone on to build up an online community of over 14,000 people, all creating positive change with the choices that they make every day, and have been invited to write and speak about sustainable and ethical consumption all over the country.

HEAR FROM OUR MEMBERS

quote-left

Jen and the sustainable living hub have got me unstuck from being someone who cared about the environment but felt overwhelmed by not knowing how to make changes to my own life, particularly without making me even busier, to the point where I have been empowered to make small changes that make a difference. We have cancelled our Ocado subscription to use less plastic and started getting an organic veg box; I took my own containers shopping with me and I've virtually eliminated my use of clingfilm along with lots of other changes. Jen makes me feel like it's possible and that I can, step-by-step make a difference.

Jen has tried it all which gives me confidence that they’re things that can be achieved.
Plus she’s not preachy but shares her wisdom in a way that gets you thinking what you want to do and to choose the things that work for you and your lifestyle.
The Hub is full of useful content, resources, videos and tips. It also has a great community of people to can connect with.
